Spanish-born Farida Rabih is the school’s principal, and has over 25 years experience as teacher, performer and choreographer of the various styles of Spanish dance, including Classical Spanish Dance, Regional and Flamenco.

She has created a very warm and non-threatening environment in which to learn. The classes, although challenging, are high energy, uplifting and fun.

Over the past twenty years Farida has studied in Spain with many
famous dancers such as La Tati, El Ciro, Belen Maya, Rafaela Carrasco, Pedro Azorin and El Guito.

As a teacher, performer and choreographer of Spanish dance, Farida has created numerous productions throughout Perth and regional W.A. In addition to their own self-funded events and theatre productions, Farida’s family group “Alegrias”, student performance group “Encanto” and her Flamenco Group “Flamenco Puro” all regularly perform at restaurants, corporate functions and community events.

Farida funds her own trips to Spain whenever possible, in order to immerse herself in the culture, hone her skills and keep up to date with the ever evolving art form. Casa Del Compás also regularly hosts intensive workshops taught by guest teachers direct from Spain, such as:

· Paloma Gomez (Madrid) · Sebastian Sanchez (Sevilla) · Francesca Grima · Andrej Vujicuc (Sevilla) · Manuel Betanzos (Sevilla) · Andres Peña (Sevilla) · Clarisa Di Salvo (Sevilla) · Jose Sierra, Jazmin Centeno (Sevilla)
