About Our Classes
Barefoot Flamenco in Studio and at the Beach!
Kick off your shoes and enjoy a flowing class set to beautiful music that incorporates upper body flamenco technique, short combinations, body percussion, stretching and much more. Experience the unique candle-lit atmosphere, where you can “dance like nobody is watching”. Some props such as fans and shawls may also be incorporated. Weather permitting, we run our Saturday morning classes at South Beach in South Fremantle. New comers are welcome. You will need to bring a towel or yoga mat for the stretching and relaxation part at the end.
”BFF” students say that this class leaves them feeling relaxed and yet invigorated.
Beginners’ Course / Level 1
An introduction to the fundamentals of flamenco dance, this class is designed for complete beginners. You’ll learn about alignment, upper body technique, footwork basics, as well as clapping techniques and rhythms.
You’ll discover the joy of putting it all together, in the form of a short, fun choreography.
Lower Intermediate
Expand on the knowledge and skills gained in Level 1 and begin incorporating more complex steps and rhythms into your flamenco repertoire.
These classes may also suit returning students wishing to strengthen their basic technique.
Intermediate Level
Intermediate classes are designed for those with a strong knowledge of the basics of flamenco, who are ready to delve deeper into the more intricate rhythms and idiosyncrasies of the art form.
Por Fiesta
Learn how to improvise when dancing in an informal /party setting, by learning how to work within the structure of the song.
Advanced Level
Advanced classes cater for experienced students with at least six years of training, wishing to strengthen and deepen their knowledge of flamenco. Advanced students will already have a thorough knowledge of the flamenco forms or “palos”, with solid technique, and be ready to tackle the challenges of an exciting, fast-paced class.
